CTD Vision Summit - Stuart, Florida - May 23, 2022

CTD Business Meeting - Stuart, Florida - May 24,2022

We are excited to announce that the Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged (CTD) will be hosting a Vision Summit in Stuart, Florida, on Monday, May 23, 2022, from 9:00AM - 3:00PM.

The Commission is pleased to welcome Commissioners Lillian Barrios and Don Elwell, and it is customary that we provide our new board members with an introduction to the Transportation Disadvantaged Program and an orientation of the Coordinated System, prior to their first business meeting. We also recognize that this information would benefit many of our State Agency Advisors, Community Transportation Coordinators (CTCs) and Planning Agencies that have welcomed new members to their teams.  So we are extending this invitation to our partners to attend this event. This information will be shared during the morning segment of the Vision Summit.

In the afternoon part of the Summit, we would like to facilitate a discussion on the major issues impacting the Coordinated System, such as driver shortages, funding challenges, etc. This would be an opportunity for stakeholders to weigh in on these issues and assist the Commission and our partners in exploring strategies to address these challenges in the future. We welcome topic suggestions from partners interested in participating in this discussion at the Vision Summit. The ideas generated during this discussion will assist CTD in identifying training needs and policy topics for our Annual Training Workshop on August 30-31, 2022.

The Summit will be held in-person and precede the Commission Business Meeting on May 24, beginning at 9:00AM. There will be no capability to participate in the Summit virtually. Please follow this link to the agenda for each event.   Both the Vision Summit and Business Meeting – May 23 and May 24 – will be held at the Martin County Board of County Commissioners at 2401 SE Monterey Rd, Stuart, FL 34996.

All members of the public are welcome to attend these events. We strongly encourage those who are in leadership positions within the Coordinated System to participate. For it is you who will help us carry out our vision of growth and excellence in meeting our riders’ needs in the years to come.

2022 Annual Awards Banquet - August 31, 2022

Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld

It’s that time of year again to recognize the people who work so hard to make a difference in our world of Transportation Disadvantaged services. Please take this opportunity to nominate individuals, teams and organizations who have gone above and beyond in contributing their time and/or expertise to the Transportation Disadvantaged program.

We have provided a nomination form for each category that incorporates a questionnaire to be completed. There is still space for you to express yourself in a narrative format, but now there is specific data that will be used by the Awards Committee to compare the different nominations.

Please take the time to answer each question. If you cannot answer a question, please state that you “don’t have or don’t collect the information” or, when appropriate, state it’s “not applicable”. Please make sure to review the Awards Criteria (included on the Nomination Form) to ensure you have all the required backup documentation prior to your submission. Do not include copies of training certificates or employee recognition documentation with your nominations. You may summarize this information in your narrative or support letter.

Please send a digital photo of your nominee. We will need this photo for the awards presentation. To review the criteria and make a nomination. Forms are available here. These are Word-fillable forms, with a box to type in for each question. If the document does not allow you to enter information, click on ‘View’ tab in the upper left corner of your screen, then select ‘Edit Document’. This should change the form so you can enter information. Also, use your keyboard ‘Tab’ key to move from one box to the next. The deadline for submitting Award Nominations is July 8, 2022. Nominations can be emailed to CTDOmbudsman@dot.state.fl.us or mailed to the address listed on the form. Awards will be presented during the CTD Awards Banquet which will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, in Orlando, Florida.
